Dance with Nature
A museum-scale work in pure silk
Two by three metres of pure silk: musicians, dancers and sleepers beneath flowering trees, framed by an illuminated border. Pieces of this scale take a workshop years, and rarely leave private hands.

Some rugs are woven; this one was kept alive. Strand by strand of silk, a garden was coaxed into being: musicians who never tire, dancers caught between one step and the next, a river that has been running for as long as the loom was strung. They say a carpet remembers every hand that touched it. Silk is the same. Stand close in the evening, when the lamps are low, and the whole scene seems to breathe, as if the party has only paused for you to arrive. A piece like this is not finished when it leaves the loom. It is finished when it finds the room that deserves it.
What it is made of
A rug is only as noble as its fibre. We treat our materials the way a tailoring house treats cashmere: sourced with care, handled by hand, never hurried.
